Janice had been wearing a full upper denture for quite some time and found it didn’t stay in place, making it very uncomfortable, and meaning it was difficult to enjoy all the foods she knew she should eat to have a healthy, balanced and varied diet.

Janice was concerned that her bone levels may not have been good enough to be able to have regular implants, and although this worry is unfounded for many patients using the All-on-4 technique, Janice’s bone levels were too low to allow us to perform a standard All-on-4 procedure for her.

On examination of her CT scan, we were able to determine that Janice was suitable for All-on-4, but using her zygomatic arch, or cheekbones, rather than the usual upper jaw bone.

After a few days recuperating following her procedure at the ’ practice in Lymm, Cheshire, Janice was back to her usual self, and even went off travelling to India for 4 months in her provisional teeth!

How Does All on 4 Work?

There are several steps to the process:

• Initially, we will carry out a CT scan and/or an X-Ray to assess the current state of your jawbone and ensure you’re a suitable candidate

• You’ll be given a local anaesthetic and small incisions will be made in your gums and the dentist will drill the jawbone to create hollows into which the implants will be fitted

• The titanium All on 4 implants will be fitted. Over time, these implants will fuse with your bone.

• A temporary bridge is fitted the same day.

• You then return later for the permanent prosthetic teeth to be fitted

When you come to , your dentist and their team will carry out a comprehensive consultation process including CT scanning and planning, to assess the suitability for All-on-4™ cosmetic dental implants. If you are in good health and able to cope with an operation under local anaesthetic, you may be a candidate. In fact, very few people are unsuitable for cosmetic dental implant therapy.
